The following is a summary of some key projects I’ have completed successfully.

Satellite Imagery Provider

I was a webMethods technical lead for DigitalGlobe for 2 years.  I implemented and maintained webMethods integration code using XML messaging for internal systems and external customers.  Integrated systems included SAP and custom software to manage satellite systems.  Protocols included SOAP/REST web services, JMS, FTP and SAP RFC.  I implemented integration best practices to move from a point-to-point to canonical publish-subscribe messaging approach.

I implemented Business Process Models for monitoring satellite imagery order process from order receipt to delivery. This helped to detect problems and optimize the flow of imagery through the factory.

Dairy Foods Provider

I was the technical lead on a B2B project for WhiteWave Foods. This system was designed to integrate customer, warehouse and transportation companies using EDI with their new SAP R/3 implementation. My roles on the project included architecture, design, coding, testing, rollout and maintenance. I also managed and mentored several junior resources. webMethods components used included Integration Server, Trading Networks, EDI & EDIINT (AS2) Adapters, Broker and the SAP Adapter. The EDI transactions that were integrated included: Purchase Order, Invoice, Delivery/Warehouse, Advanced Ship Notice, Shipment, Payment Remittance, Debit/Credit Memo, Lockbox and Application Advice. The EDI standards used included X12 4010 - 5010; UCS 4010 - 5010; and VICS 4010. AS2 was the communication protocol used with direct customer and Sterling Commerce VAN communications. SAP IDOCS were used to integrate in both directions with SAP. This was a large 100+ customer implementation for inbound and outbound transactions that encompassed the entire order to cash cycle. It was rolled out all at once for a 2 company merger when they turned on their SAP system.

I wrote a VB .NET application to automate promotion of webMethods code and configuration with Visual SourceSafe. The application included a GUI to extract code by version/label from VSS and install on QA and Production webMethods servers. This included a few web services to interact with webMethods.

I wrote a transaction analysis system in VB .NET and webMethods to augment webMethods Trading Networks that made end-to-end transaction tracking much easier. It contained some additional database tables and views on top of the webMethods database, and a set of web services to interact with webMethods.

Computer Storage Manufacturer

I was the architect and technical lead on an EAI project for EDS/StorageTek. I worked with a team of 3 integration developers and 12 others from other application teams to design and implemented a webMethods 6.1 integration solution to automate the service billing area of their business. Work included integration of SAP 4.7, Clarify 11.5, Siebel 6 & 7.5 and Microsoft Sharepoint portal. I defined the architecture blueprint for integrations between systems and defined many of the XML data models (canonicals). Some of the transactions I designed and implemented included: quote to service order, quote to service contract, customer synchronization, portal quote request and equipment inquiry. I also coded many utilities and infrastructure service on webMethods.

I was the technical lead on an EAI project to integrate a field system for monitoring and reporting hardware failures with their trouble ticket management systems: Clarify for US and Aces for international. This decreased the response time to the customer and eliminated duplicate data entry. This system was implemented with webMethods 6.1 and interfaced with Service Delivery Platform by Motive Software.

I was the technical lead on an EAI project to integrate their field service representatives using a custom application written for BlackBerry handhelds. This system interfaces to both Clarify and Aces depending on where the service representative resided. Many of the thick-client features were implemented including: view service events, create service event, update service event, enter time, log parts, and close service event.

Value Added Reseller

I was the webMethods team lead for a project at GE Access to connect suppliers, customers and internal systems including Oracle 11i. It was implemented with webMethods Integration Server 4.6 and Enterprise Server 5. I created an architecture blueprint for integrations. Transactions I designing and implementing include vendor inventory update with Oracle 11i using flat-file and XML formats, and inbound ship notices with Oracle 11i using OAGIS 7 XML, EDI 865 and flat-file. I designed and prototyped outbound invoice framework from Oracle 11i to customers using OAGIS 7 XML, EDI 810, flat-file and PDF. Mentoring of staff was also provided to leave them self sufficient maintaining and developing code in the future.

I worked on a performance tuning project with a load testing engineer to analyze and tune the webMethods middleware for the corporate web ordering system (Comergent). This included analyzing code and XML data models for inefficiencies and tuning server parameters to improve end-to-end response time and decrease server load. I increased response time and throughput up to 50 percent on some transactions and decreased overall server load.

Business-to-business Office Products Supplier

In this project I established technical architecture for all B2B integration and implemented over 50 integrations for Corporate Express. The system was implemented with webMethods B2B 3.x/4.0 server and an Oracle Application Server and Java servlet back-end. I developed the webMethods software package architecture, coding standards, their external B2B specification and processes for smoothing out the integration process. I created the Trading Networks implementation strategy and managed 2 software upgrades. My team implemented the following messaging protocols: cXML 1.x, xCBL 2.0/3.0, OBI 1.1, EDI, OCI 2.0, and Commerce One Roundtrip. Transaction types supported include: integration to Internet catalog (punchout), purchase orders, purchase order acknowledgements and invoices. Market sites integrated include: Ariba, Commerce One, and many customer procurement systems using the aforementioned standards.
